Music Genres: Country/Pop Country/Rock

Describe yourself as an artist: I’ve had a lot of good people surrounding me. A lot of people that have good knowledge when it comes to being successful. I listen to people and take pride in putting my emotions into words. I’m always trying to put a mixture of music out there that I think people will like. I work hard and enjoy it. I want people to see my work and like it. I like singing music that makes people feel happy.

What makes you unique as an artist? I think I’m unique when it comes to singing all kinds of music. My channel is a wide variety of things I have tried. Rock started me out, then I can easily dip into country. From country, I may dip back into pop. It’s all fun which is what it should be.

What instruments do you play? Piano/ukulele/drums

Tell us about yourself? (Personality, principles). I’m outgoing and determined. Singing keeps me grounded. It’s so nice to know that music is for everyone and that we can have choose what music we want to sing or play. I love challenging myself when it comes to this industry. I see that other artists made it, and maybe I could too. This makes me want to do it more and more. When I sing I like to start and finish something before walking away.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music? I like to horse back ride, swimming, and soccer. I currently play on a house team.

What inspired you to start playing and performing music? I sang around the house all the time around 2 years. At 6, my mom and dad signed me up for lessons. I loved it. I loved how I felt when singing. I liked hearing other artists, and would try to match my voice to theirs. Seeing others famous now made me want to do and feel the same.

In your opinion, what makes a great song? A great song is something catchy, something that will draw people in who will want to listen to it. A great song should be like a story that you want to jump into, to hear more.

Do you write music? Yes I do. I’ve been co-writing with Curt for a couple of years now as well as my vocal coach in lessons.

If so, describe your creative process in your songwriting. Sometimes I don’t feel creative at first… I find that it comes a bit faster when I am in a beautiful place. Nashville for me is so chill, and it makes me calm. I can sit down myself or with another songwriter and have the chance to create the words I want on paper.

When did you first perform and what was it like? I’ve done a lot of recitals within music schools but probably my two best bigger performances were the Canadian Model and Talent Convention which I do every year for over 1000 people. When I was younger I toured with the Minipopkids and we traveled all over Ontario. Audiences were about 1500 each show.

Who are your influences? I am a HUGE Taylor Swift fan. Huge deal to meet her one day. I love Carrie Underwood and various artists in different genres.

What awards have you won for your music? I’ve received many Josie awards over the last few years which I’m so grateful for. This year in 2023 Oct, I am nominated for 5 awards. I’ve received many talent awards, as well as vocalist of the year within several agencies.

What advice would you give someone that is trying to break into music? Advice – if you like it try it, if it’s a passion for you then pursue that passion. Music can be so different but there is something for everyone and that’s what makes it right. Try hard and don’t quit.

If you could meet anyone, living or otherwise, who would it be? For me there are so many females that are so strong in music. I would have loved to meet Whitney Houston. She was so powerful.
