Describe yourself as an artist: Basically a country singer; most of my gigs were in dancehalls across the country. I’ve opened for John Anderson, Gene Watson, Mel Tellis, TG Shepard, and others.
What makes you unique as an artist: I don’t consider myself unique.
What instruments do you play: Guitar and Bass.
Tell us about yourself (Personality, Principles): I’m a Christian; I believe in God and family. I’m a Republican and a Marine combat veteran.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music: Fishing, hunting, and horseback riding.
What inspired you to start playing and performing music: Mom and Dad sang and played instruments.
In your opinion, what makes a song great: A good story with a nice melody.
Do you write music: Yes.
If so describe your creative process in your songwriting: Concentration on a subject.
When did you first perform and what was it like: I sang in my Dad’s church at about the age of 9 and was very nervous.
Who are your influences: Mom and Dad, Merle Haggard, and the Beatles.
What awards have you won for your music: Talent shows.
What advice would you give someone that is trying to break into music: Give it all you’ve got and don’t quit!
